Happiness In A Cup

Did you know today is National Hot Cocoa Day? I love Hot Cocoa how about you?  Hot Cocoa is just happiness in a cup. My favorite thing to add to the warming goodness drink is cinnamon. I put a couple of dashes of cinnamon in my drink now. I have my husband hooked on it too, of course marshmallows are a must and on occasion a little peppermint candy cane is nice too. When I was a child, after playing in the snow, my Mom would give us a cup of hot cocoa and toast with cinnamon and sugar. My sister, Lisa and I would typically hate coming inside until we saw what was waiting for us on the table. Now, my Mom's hot cocoa was home made and we just thought it was the bomb! Ingredients : 2 cups Unsweetened Cocoa (Mom always used Nesquik) 4 cups Powdered Milk (Mom always used Carnation) 3 cups Powdered Sugar 1 cup Non Dairy Creamer 1 1/2 teaspoon of Pure Vanilla Powder Directions : Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Mix with a wire whisk until well combined. Store in an air tight conta

Sarah

As I have posted prior, I plan on Friday's Flashback post, re-posting vacations past. My original thought was to post in order but last night I came to a very surprised, breath taking, sad news, so I had to post about my Las Vegas trip. Facebook shares memories and I look. Yesterday I had a memory from Sarah she posted in 2010. She told me how much she loved me and thanked me for being there and supporting her. We have kept in touch with one another since 2007. Facebook, doesn't always show all of my friends and there have been times we may go 6 months without chatting with one another, the other will then reach out to one and we catch up again. When this memory popped up, I thought I have not heard from Sarah for awhile so I went looking. I was so shocked to see RIP on her page. I immediately had to research more. Her actual last post was 7/21/2021 I was on vacation then. On 7/23/2021 the next post about how much she will be missed. I had to find out what happened to my sweet

Las Vegas 2012 ~ The Fun and Not So Fun Moments

We had some fun and not so fun moments while we were on our trip.  I will start with the bad so I can end with the good. Not so fun moments... Along the strip there are some really freaking, pushy sales people.  Trying to push their porn cards and booklets on any male walking, regardless if he is holding hands with another woman.   The streets later in the day are loaded with littered porn cards and booklets, from the pushy freaks. Inside every hotel are a different freaking, pushy sales people.  These people are dressed nicer and come up to you and welcome you, asking if you want free tickets while you are here...all you have to do is give up 90 minutes of your life for them to try to sale you some time share.  {I felt guilty because I lied to them constantly, I would say, oh we are late we have to meet up with friends, or no we will be leaving this afternoon.} Denny's on the strip.  The worse Denny's or restaurant I have ever been in.  Rude and slow.  We were served old cold

Las Vegas 2012~ Day 3

Our last day in Las Vegas we had to check out of our room by 11 am and our flight was not until 1 am on Sunday.  We decided to rent a car so we could get around a little.  A car gave us a little freedom and gave our feet a break.  This day the temperature was 100 degrees and it was hot.  The main difference from hot weather at home is there was no humidity, so we did not feel sticky.  We met my friend Sarah at an In and Out burger joint.  The Mister wanted to eat here; he had heard they have the best burgers.  It was good, but I was thrilled to meet Sarah.  This is the first time we have met in person.  She and a few other women I met on a diet website.  We became very close and these women provided so much support while I was planning my first son's graduation and wedding at the same time.  The events were only 2 months apart.  I was a hot mess, especially trying to find my dress. We met up with Sarah and her two adorable children.  We recognized one another immediately and as soo
