Vacation 2008 ~ Milwaukee/Six Flags Chicago area

Vacation 2008 began the day after the Mister and I were married. Sis, Matchu, and Boof were not able to go with us so Doshie brought his friend Fred and we also took the Mister's nephews, Andrew and Austin. We had a good time for the most part. Some day the Mister and I will have our honeymoon but it was important to us to keep our family vacation with the kids. First day was in Milwaukee...Cubs vs. Brewers. Oh yeah, the Cubbies won! This was the first National Baseball game for my boys as well as for Austin. The Brewer's stadium allows you to tailgate in the parking lot and we did exactly that. It was a very enjoyable first day/night of vacation. Back row, left to right: Doshie, F red, the Mister, and myself Front row, left to right: Eaterman, Austin, Nono, and Andrew. (notice Andrew is the only person not wearing Cubs...he's a White Sox fan.) Milwaukee's stadium is beautiful I thought The Cubs won!! Disappointment look, Andrew hates the Cubs. The next two days we were...

Vacation 2007

Since we had such a large vacation in 2006,  we decided 2007 was going to have to be scaled back. We ended up going camping at Backbone State Park for 4 days and 3 nights. We rented canoes and paddle boats, but the lake was way too dirty to go swimming. The boys had fun, but the girls didn't enjoy it too much after the 2st day. Sis and Matchu were unable to make it do to work. Boof brought a friend and so did Doshie. This is tent the girls, the Mister and I slept in. This is tent where the boys slept. Boof and her friend. The boys and the Mister playing badminton Enjoying a good campfire is a must when camping Many Blessings, Jolene

Las Vegas 2012 ~ The Fun and Not So Fun Moments

We had some fun and not so fun moments while we were on our trip.  I will start with the bad so I can end with the good. Not so fun moments... Along the strip there are some really freaking, pushy sales people.  Trying to push their porn cards and booklets on any male walking, regardless if he is holding hands with another woman.   The streets later in the day are loaded with littered porn cards and booklets, from the pushy freaks. Inside every hotel are a different freaking, pushy sales people.  These people are dressed nicer and come up to you and welcome you, asking if you want free tickets while you are here...all you have to do is give up 90 minutes of your life for them to try to sale you some time share.  {I felt guilty because I lied to them constantly, I would say, oh we are late we have to meet up with friends, or no we will be leaving this afternoon.} Denny's on the strip.  The worse Denny's or restaurant I have ever been in.  Rude and slow....

Las Vegas 2012~ Day 3

Our last day in Las Vegas we had to check out of our room by 11 am and our flight was not until 1 am on Sunday.  We decided to rent a car so we could get around a little.  A car gave us a little freedom and gave our feet a break.  This day the temperature was 100 degrees and it was hot.  The main difference from hot weather at home is there was no humidity, so we did not feel sticky.  We met my friend Sarah at an In and Out burger joint.  The Mister wanted to eat here; he had heard they have the best burgers.  It was good, but I was thrilled to meet Sarah.  This is the first time we have met in person.  She and a few other women I met on a diet website.  We became very close and these women provided so much support while I was planning my first son's graduation and wedding at the same time.  The events were only 2 months apart.  I was a hot mess, especially trying to find my dress. We met up with Sarah and her two adorable chil...
