Most of our 2019 Summer was working on the outside of our house. We hired someone to put a new roof on our house. We were very lucky this happened prior to the Derecho. I am sure we would have had water in our house from the storm and we would be waiting along time for a new roof.
Above is the color of our house 13 years ago. The house needed painted and some siding needed replaced. We changed the color of the trim around the windows and the shutters. It was time to replace some siding again and the house needed painted. We knew we could not tackle this and wanted vinyl siding. The same company who did our roof, also replaced new siding for us. This took awhile because they had to special order our siding. COVID made supplies limited and created back orders.
The back prior to the siding and after we washed the deck. Yes, for 12 years we never painted the trim. No clue why but I left it for the mister. This time around it will be taken care of.While we waited for the siding we started to stain our decks both the front and the back. We completed the front and was close to the back when our siding came in. Our goal was to complete the back deck before Fall. We were close but didn't quite make it. (We only had the weekends to work on this and had weather working against us part of the Summer.)We didn't get to our trim around the windows done either. Mainly because we had too many projects. The only part of the deck we missed was behind our grill. We also had to wait on our new garage door. That too was back ordered due to COVID-19.We waited patiently and finally it came in.Once the garage door was added we updated the outside lights. It was after the lights we bought a new door.
Next Spring we will finish the little railing we have and the stairs. We also have to put a second coat of paint on our shutters and paint our new door. Then the house face-lift will be complete, unless we replace some windows.
Many Blessings,
Jolene 🦋
