Vacation 2008 ~ Milwaukee/Six Flags Chicago area

Vacation 2008 began the day after the Mister and I were married. Sis, Matchu, and Boof were not able to go with us so Doshie brought his friend Fred and we also took the Mister's nephews, Andrew and Austin. We had a good time for the most part. Some day the Mister and I will have our honeymoon but it was important to us to keep our family vacation with the kids. First day was in Milwaukee...Cubs vs. Brewers. Oh yeah, the Cubbies won! This was the first National Baseball game for my boys as well as for Austin. The Brewer's stadium allows you to tailgate in the parking lot and we did exactly that. It was a very enjoyable first day/night of vacation. Back row, left to right: Doshie, F red, the Mister, and myself Front row, left to right: Eaterman, Austin, Nono, and Andrew. (notice Andrew is the only person not wearing Cubs...he's a White Sox fan.) Milwaukee's stadium is beautiful I thought The Cubs won!! Disappointment look, Andrew hates the Cubs. The next two days we were...

Vacation 2007

Since we had such a large vacation in 2006,  we decided 2007 was going to have to be scaled back. We ended up going camping at Backbone State Park for 4 days and 3 nights. We rented canoes and paddle boats, but the lake was way too dirty to go swimming. The boys had fun, but the girls didn't enjoy it too much after the 2st day. Sis and Matchu were unable to make it do to work. Boof brought a friend and so did Doshie. This is tent the girls, the Mister and I slept in. This is tent where the boys slept. Boof and her friend. The boys and the Mister playing badminton Enjoying a good campfire is a must when camping Many Blessings, Jolene

A Letter to Teenage Jolene

Once upon a time back in 2015, I participated in monthly challenges. One challenge was to write a letter to yourself when you were a teenager.  Oh, there are so many things I would like to tell teenage Jolene.    Dear Teenage Jolene, I know you are thinking WHAT? receiving this letter from yourself over 30 ummm 40 years in the future but I have some important words to share with you.  Words you need to hear/read.  Words I wish you really felt because guess what you do deserve to feel this way. You need to stop trying so hard to make people like you because guess what?  They do!  You have no idea right now how many people really like you and think you are great.  You just need to keep being you.  You are honest and caring.  You treat people with so much respect and care for their needs except for one person.  This person is very important and you need to stop neglecting her.  This person is you!  You need to slow down...
